Born in Montpelier, Vermont, Mike grew up in and around Portland, Maine, where he attended Cheverus High School. He earned a BA in Sociology from the University of Southern Maine. Mike graduated from Northeastern Law School in 1983 and then worked at Legal Services in Lakeland, Florida, for the next 15 years. He returned to Maine in 1998 and has worked as a staff attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Bangor since 1998.
