Ann's House Press Release

Manna Ministries of Bangor, Maine, announces the January 2, 2012, opening of Ann's House, a safe transition home for homeless women with children in crisis. Ann's House will enable women who have had no other choice but to stay in city funded motel rooms, or 'couch surf' from friend to friend, to have a temporary lovely home for themselves and their children.

Anne's House has five complete bedrooms exclusively for women and children. We will be able to provide a safe haven for transition into a job or school for families. Manna will be able to offer the services of our own case managers and counselors, as well as programs for life skills necessary to be independent.

The cost of running this program - for staff, food, housing expenses, child care, and programs is $10,000.00 per month. Many families will be able to help defer costs by receiving some state and outside subsidies, which would take effect at least one month after ingression. Manna is currently applying for grants and participating in other fund raising activities.

We have received a matching grant challenge from a Bangor family. If we can raise $5,000.00 in the next 5 days, they will match it, giving us our first month's operating expenses!

This is exactly what we need to get started well! Would you consider helping with this endeavor? You would be part of keeping 5 homeless families together and off the street. Children need their moms and a safe place. That is what we are offering, and what you can share in.

You can give securely online by credit or debit card at www.mannamaine.org,, by phone at 207-990-2870, or by dropping in to Manna at 629 Main St., in Bangor. I would love to talk to you about this amazing new program for families! Feel free to give me a call for more information.

Sincerely,

William C. Rae
